Last week our Metal Workshop gained a new member! Mark, who moved to Israel just 3 years ago at the age of 73, speaks only a few words in Hebrew. Prior to moving, he worked in the woodworking industry for 43 years. Mark and his wife decided to move to Israel to join their daughter who has been here 20 years.

He learned about Yad LaKashish through his son-in-law, whose father also works in the Metal Workshop. Due to severe knee problems, Mark spent the last 6 months at home hardly able to walk. Finally feeling better, he decided to join Yad LaKashish to get active and help himself financially.

Mark is currently going through the training process to find the right position for him in the workshop. Mark says he is very grateful for the work which takes his mind off of his knees and for the benefits including a daily hot lunch.
