Where it all began...
In 1962, Yad LaKashish opened its first artisan workshop, the bookbindery, with eight men fixing books for local schools. Since then, the workshop has grown, both in numbers and clientele. Schools, synagogues, families, and individuals bring their children’s books, prayer books, first-edition texts and more to be fixed by the dozens of artisans who now comprise this workshop. These intergenerational encounters advance our mission of promoting positive attitudes toward the elderly.
