Dear Friends, It is one of life’s greatest privileges to grow old. Yet for far too many, aging is accompanied by loneliness, financial hardship and invisibility. At Yad LaKashish, we believe every senior deserves to be seen, valued and empowered.
Since 1962, our Jerusalem-based nonprofit has been at the forefront of social and economic advocacy, offering a lifeline to the city’s low-income elderly. In our 9 art workshops, nearly 200 seniors gather each day to learn new skills, create beautiful handmade pieces, and rediscover purpose, friendship, and pride. The results of our unique Model of Positive Aging are transformative. For them, and for all of us.
At the heart of our work is a simple truth: when older adults are given the opportunity to be a meaningful part of society, they thrive. And when we honor their contributions, society becomes stronger and more compassionate for everyone.
Whether you tour the workshops, visit the Gift Shop in person or online, or support our mission from afar, you are helping to rewrite the story of aging.
I warmly invite you to be a part of this powerful journey.
Best Wishes,
Ariela (Relly) Schwartz-Zur
