"If a person can move only one little finger, then that little finger should be put to work." - Ms. Myriam Mendilow, Founder of Yad LaKashish: Lifeline for the Old
Our rehabilitation workshop provides a source of activity and community through art. Working side by side, old, young, physically and/or emotionally challenged individuals develop self-respect and pride through the labor of their own hands. Teamwork is emphasized to allow each artisan to use his or her skills in order to contribute towards the final product. The workshop is completely wheelchair accessible.

Volunteers assist in the sewing and embroidery work done here and all share a satisfaction which only useful employment can provide. The artisans are delighted by visitors from all over the world and never miss an opportunity to chat in their native language or proudly show off their work. Tzedakah boxes, baby blankets, 'character' dolls, and wall-hangings are just a few of the adorable offerings emerging from this colorful workshop.

Every day, more than 300 elderly and disabled Jerusalem residents depend on Yad LaKashish to make their Golden Years shine.
